Professor Yoon-Kyoung Cho was invited as a distinguished speaker at the Korea–Switzerland Symposium 2025 held at ETH Zürich. She delivered a talk on “Microfluidic Architectures Bridging Soft Matter and Bioanalytics,” showcasing our group’s advances in centrifugal and droplet-based microfluidics.

Professor Yoon-Kyoung Cho delivered a keynote lecture at the NanoBioTech–Montreux Conference 2025, an international meeting on micro- and nanoscale technologies for the biosciences.
Prof. Cho presented “Centrifugal Discs and Droplet Microfluidics for Precision Diagnostics,” outlining recent advances in microfluidic platforms for bioanalysis.
The conference brings together leading researchers in microfluidics, soft matter, and nano-bioengineering, and her keynote participation highlights the visibility of her research in the global community.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Professor Yoon-Kyoung Cho has been featured in Nature as an inspiring woman in science. Nominated by 2021 award winner Kiana Aran, Professor Cho was recognized for her groundbreaking contributions to microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip diagnostics, as well as her leadership in bridging academia and industry. Outstanding Paper works : EV-CLIP
Our team members, Elizabeth, Sumit, Juhee Park, and Professor Yoon-Kyoung Cho, have published research on ultra-sensitive cancer detection, which was featured as a cover story in ACS Nano and highlighted in the news. Their innovative EV-CLIP technology enables early lung cancer detection with just a few drops of blood, offering a faster and more accurate diagnostic method.

Fruits at 2025 GRIMS Symposium
Our FRUITS Lab successfully hosted the GRIMBS (Global Symposium on Multiscale Biohybrid Systems), with full participation from our research team. The event brought together leading researchers, including Professor Chwee Teck (C.T.) Lim and his team from NUS, Singapore, as well as Professor Shoji Takeuchi and his team from UTokyo, Japan.
Beyond the symposium, an international research center has been established to foster close collaboration and advance joint research efforts.

Prof. Yoon-Kyoung Cho Selected for Advanced Bio Global Joint Research Center Project
Prof. Yoon-Kyoung Cho has been selected for the “Advanced Bio Global Joint Research Center Project” by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Over the next three years, her team will receive 2 billion KRW in funding to develop a multiscale convergence system for optimized muscle injury treatment, in collaboration with the University of Tokyo and the National University of Singapore.
